The Northeast Ohio Organizational Development Connection (ODC)

OD Connection – at the Center of Change
We are a leading OD professional development organization in Northeast Ohio promoting effective practices and philosophies. We offer practitioners, students, and interested parties opportunities to:
  • Create a learning community
  • Advance their knowledge and skills
  • Network and support one another
  • Share effective OD experiences.

We meet as often as somebody is willing to develop a program, at various locations.

Ecological Consulting:
Inviting Nature's Wisdom Into Your Work

Part 1 Disruption, Innovation and Nature's Wisdom

In April, ODC participants experienced some basics of a Flourishing Living Systems approach to organizational health. We uncovered some generative tensions that influence the ability of organizations to evolve, and we practiced using polarities to detect organizational dynamics.

Part 2
Ecological Consulting: Inviting Nature's Wisdom Into Your Work

In September, we will dive more deeply into the natural generative tensions that move us and our own work as instruments of change in client systems. We will consider the catalytic role of the OD practitioner who inhabits a living and interconnected planet-wide system. We introduce "Mandala Leadership," a philosophy and method of emergent participatory leadership which calls on our senses, emotions, intuition and rational minds. The interactive workshop asks you, as an OD practitioner...

• How do you contribute your gifts in living organizational systems to co-create conditions for more life?

• How do you balance the different approaches and language of mechanistic and organic ways of working?

• How do you make choices that both regenerate yourself and your client systems?

• How do you re-frame environments of scarcity into opportunities for abundance?

• How do you balance profit motives with intentions to care for the earth and all life?

Join Argerie Vasilakes and Nurete Brenner, Lake Erie Institute, to re-imagine and practice use-of-self in a flourishing enterprise. Practice steps to align your work with an earth-based ethic. Learn about other enterprises that have created regenerative innovations, processes and solutions. Learn how to maintain your integrity as an ecological leader while building capacity in your client organizations for resilience, self-organization and holistic hierarchy.
